Job Title: Senior Children’s Support Worker – Residential Children’s Home in Plymouth
Location: Plymouth, Devon, UK
Salary: £31,000 - £34,299.20 per annum (including sleep-ins)
Job Description:

An excellent opportunity awaits to join a modern, supportive residential children’s home in Plymouth as a Senior Children’s Support Worker. In this role, you will provide vital support to children and young people aged 8-18 years who experience Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Encouraging young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their personal growth
- Upholding a warm, homely, and welcoming environment within the home
- Managing challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism
- Protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Supporting independence and promoting wellbeing of the young residents
- Ensuring a safe and secure environment, adhering to individual care plans and guidelines
- Building positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals such as psychologists
- Supporting meaningful activities and fostering social, emotional, and behavioural development
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children’s Support Worker or within a youth or social care setting is desirable but not essential
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential, as transportation of young people is required
- Over 21 years old
- Ability to commute to Plymouth
- Enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated individual ready to make a real difference in young people’s lives

Shift Pattern: 16 to 24-hour shifts, including sleep-ins, on a rotating basis (one on two off or two on four off)
