We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider of children’s residential services in Taunton. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example, supporting the management team in the smooth running of the residential service.
- Mentor and support newer staff members, fostering a positive team culture.
- Encourage young people aged 8-18 to participate in activities and develop their independence.
- Maintain a warm, homely environment that promotes the safety and well-being of children and young people.
- Manage challenging behaviours with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring the safety and health of all residents.
- Promote positive behaviour through tailored care plans, reward systems, and communication methods.
- Build strong relationships with children, families, social workers, and other professionals.
- Develop skills in care planning, safeguarding, and managing risk to create a secure environment.
- Support young people's emotional development and assist them in achieving their potential.
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People (essential).
- Proven experience in a residential children’s home setting (essential).
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential).
- Ability to deliver a holistic, compassionate approach to care for young people with complex needs.
- Strong leadership and teamworking skills.
- Passion for supporting vulnerable children and making a positive impact.
