Job Description:
Are you a dedicated residential care worker ready to advance your career or an experienced Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker seeking a new challenge? A leading specialist provider of children’s residential services is looking for a committed Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join their team in Bishop Auckland.
In this role, you will support the manager in delivering high-quality care to young people aged 10 to 16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives while working within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and support the management team in running daily shifts
- Mentor and support new staff members to ensure high standards of care
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop independence
- Maintain a welcoming, homely environment that promotes safety and well-being
- Manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Support young people’s individual care plans and promote their personal development
- Foster positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (essential)
- Experience working in a residential children’s home environment (essential)
- Full driving licence and access to a car (essential) for transportation purposes
- Ability to deliver holistic, person-centred care for young people with EBD
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
