Job Title: Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker – EBD Care
Location: Bishop Auckland, County Durham, UK
Salary: £32,090 - £36,314 (including sleep allowance) + overtime opportunities

Job Description:
Are you a dedicated residential care worker ready to advance your career or an experienced Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker seeking a new challenge? A leading specialist provider of children’s residential services is looking for a committed Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join their team in Bishop Auckland.

In this role, you will support the manager in delivering high-quality care to young people aged 10 to 16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives while working within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead by example and support the management team in running daily shifts
• Mentor and support new staff members to ensure high standards of care
• Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop independence
• Maintain a welcoming, homely environment that promotes safety and well-being
• Manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism
• Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
• Support young people’s individual care plans and promote their personal development
• Foster positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals

Requirements:

• NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (essential)
• Experience working in a residential children’s home environment (essential)
• Full driving licence and access to a car (essential) for transportation purposes
• Ability to deliver holistic, person-centred care for young people with EBD
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
