Job Description:
Our client, a leading children’s charity, is seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Children & Young People's Worker to join their team in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive environment, providing short-term placements for children and young people aged 8-18, helping them develop confidence, independence, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Residential Children & Young People's Worker, your daily duties will include:

  • Building trust and nurturing relationships to promote the service user's independence and wellbeing.
  • Leading and supporting Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties.
  • Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning.
  • Documenting information accurately and maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed.
  • Promoting a safe environment at all times and responding appropriately to any safeguarding concerns.
  • Working in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to support the children and young people.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare or be willing to complete this within a specified timeframe.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory and shift leader experience in residential care.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
