Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home (Single Occupancy) – Porthcawl
Salary: £29,571.36 per annum
Shift Pattern: 2 days | 2 nights | 4 days off (rotational)
About the Role:

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal leadership role, guiding shifts, role-modeling best practices, and making a meaningful difference in a young person’s life. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as shift leader, ensuring high standards of care, consistency, and a safe environment.
- Support the young person to feel secure, listened to, and empowered in their daily life.
- Lead daily routines, contribute to care planning and recording, and promote a trauma-informed, child-centred approach.
- Collaborate closely with team members, external professionals, and managers to deliver personalized care.
- Mentor, support, and develop junior staff and new team members, fostering a positive team dynamic.
- Contribute to creating a compassionate and empowering environment that encourages the young person’s wellbeing and independence.
Candidate Requirements:
- Hold a Level 3 Children & Young People (CYP) qualification (essential).
- Proven experience working in a children’s residential setting.
- Confident in leading shifts, making decisions, and demonstrating resilience under pressure.
- Calm, empathetic, and child-focused approach with a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and development.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
