Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home Location: Merthyr Tydfil Salary: From £30,580 per annum (including sleep-in allowances)  

Job Description:Are you a dedicated and compassionate professional seeking to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives? We are looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a therapeutic children’s home in Merthyr Tydfil. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a team, deliver impactful care, and support young people with emotional challenges, including ADHD and Autistic spectrum diagnoses. As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing environment that encourages positive development and resilience.  

Key Responsibilities:  

Lead and supervise a team of support staff to deliver therapeutic care and support to young people.  
Mentor and motivate colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the children in your care.  
Manage daily operations within the children’s home, ensuring smooth and effective service delivery.  
Record observations, compile progress reports, and assist in implementing personalised care plans.  
Act as a positive role model, building trusting relationships with young people and team members.

Requirements:  

Minimum of 12 months’ experience working in a children’s home setting.  
Level 3 qualification in residential childcare or equivalent.  
Knowledge or experience of child-centred, therapeutic models of care.  
Full UK Driving Licence.  
A caring, flexible, and resilient attitude with a passion for supporting young people’s development.
