Job Description
Senior Support Worker opportunities are available in Bridgwater, Somerset, supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with behavioural and emotional needs. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Support Worker based in Bridgwater, your daily duties will include:
- Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager when required
- Supporting colleagues with mandatory training, development, and consistent care plan delivery
- Maintaining accurate records, logs, and reports to support monitoring and evaluation
- Providing day-to-day care, guidance, and positive role modelling for young people
- Encouraging education, routines, and social activities, including travel to/from school or college
- Preparing meals, maintaining the home environment, and organising activities and off-site days
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Senior Support Worker, you will need:
- A Full UK driving licence (essential)
- A willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Residential childcare experience (12 months in a senior capacity is desirable; motivated applicants earlier in their journey are welcome)
- DBS and reference checks in line with safer recruitment and government regulations
- Flexibility to work 16–24 hour shifts, including sleep-ins, on a one-on-two or two-on-four basis
