Job Description
We are recruiting a Senior Residential Childcare Team Leader to join a residential children’s home in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent. This is an in-person leadership role supporting children and young people with ESBD needs, helping to deliver safe, consistent care and positive outcomes within a values-led team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Residential Childcare Team Leader based in Ebbw Vale, your daily duties will include:
- Leading shifts within a residential children’s home setting in Ebbw Vale, ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding practice
- Delivering staff supervisions, mentoring new starters through probation, and supporting performance management and accountability
- Maintaining excellent recording and reporting, ensuring compliance with RISCA regulations, National Minimum Standards, and internal procedures
- Supporting care planning, risk assessments, placement planning, and preparation for LAC reviews and transitions from care
- Deputising for the Registered/Care Home Manager when required, including rota support and on-call cover
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Senior Residential Childcare Team Leader, you will need:
- QCF Level 3 Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) (essential)
- Training/understanding in Attachment & Trauma and/or therapeutic approaches (essential)
- 2+ years’ experience in residential childcare, including team leader/senior experience in a children’s home (ESBD preferred)
- Strong IT skills for documentation, compliance, and reporting (essential)
- Clean Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Enhanced DBS (DBS Update Service desirable) and registration with Social Care Wales (desirable)
