Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of residential childcare services in Ebbw Vale, is seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support a team within a nurturing environment, ensuring high standards of care for children and young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker based in Ebbw Vale, your daily duties will include:

  • Leading and supervising staff within the residential children’s home, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.
  • Supporting the delivery of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs, including attachment disorders, challenging behaviour, and safeguarding.
  • Mentoring and coaching team members, conducting staff supervisions, and assisting in staff development and probationary assessments.
  • Deputising for the Care Home Manager in their absence, supporting operational management and decision-making.
  • Maintaining accurate recording and reporting, ensuring all documentation aligns with RISCA regulations and company policies.
  • Managing on-call duties, staff rotas, and supporting the team to deliver consistent, high-quality care.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will need:

  • QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care Children & Young People (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or team leader role.
  • Knowledge of current legislation, safeguarding, and best practice in residential childcare.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to support flexible working hours, including weekends, bank holidays, and occasional overnight stays.
  • Desirable: QCF Level 4 qualification, which may be offered on passing probation, subject to competency.
