Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our children’s home in Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan. This role offers the opportunity to support up to four young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties within a safe, homely, and therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker based in Cowbridge, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs in a residential setting.
- Acting as a positive role model and providing therapeutic care tailored to individual needs.
- Leading shift operations, ensuring statutory requirements and health & safety regulations are met.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with young people, their families, and team members.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of personalised care plans.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- Essential QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in care, preferably with children and young people.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Minimum age of 22.
- Passion to make a difference and strong communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure.
- Flexibility for shift work, including weekends and sleep-in shifts.
- Basic IT skills and understanding of statutory requirements and health & safety regulations.
- Desirable: Level 3 qualification specific to children and young people, Welsh speaker, and experience in residential childcare.
