We are seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a specialised service supporting vulnerable children and young people aged 8-18 years, focusing on safeguarding and promoting their wellbeing in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker based in Hinckley, your daily duties will include:
- Building trusted, nurturing relationships that promote children’s independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Leading, guiding, and supporting Residential Support Workers in their daily responsibilities.
- Collaborating with families, carers, and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
- Contributing to the smooth running of the home, including household tasks such as cooking and maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Ensuring accurate and timely recording of reports and safeguarding documentation.
- Upholding safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
- Acting as a positive role model, helping young people develop valuable life and social skills.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- A valid UK driving licence.
- A Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare, or willingness to complete the qualification within the required timeframe.
- Experience working with children and young people in a residential or similar setting.
- At least one year’s experience in a supervisory or shift-leading role within residential care.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
