Job Title: Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home (Trauma-Informed Care)

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (including sleep-in shift pay, bonuses, and pension)

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, inspire, and support your team to deliver exceptional care.
- Assist management in running the home smoothly and developing therapeutic services.
- Ensure safeguarding and safety of children and staff at all times.
- Build strong, empathetic relationships with young people, their families, and professionals.
- Act as a positive role model and leader within the team.
- Support team development and address vicarious trauma.
- Engage in community-based activities to promote social inclusion.
- Support practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
- Maintain detailed, reflective records evidencing progress and safeguarding.
- Comply with all health and safety standards, policies, and legislation.
- Uphold attachment-based and trauma-informed care approaches consistently.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in Children’s Residential Social Care or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and therapeutic approaches.
- Effective leadership, communication, and nurturing skills.
- Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or willingness to attain.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- Knowledge of Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and relevant legislation.
- Clear DBS check and positive references.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and appropriate boundaries.
