Job Description:
Senior Residential Support Worker - Residential Children's Home opportunities are available in Chippenham, Somerset within a small, therapeutic 3-bed children’s home supporting young people with learning difficulties and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). You’ll join a trauma-informed team focused on safeguarding, emotional warmth, and helping young people achieve meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker - Residential Children's Home based in Chippenham, your daily duties will include:

Delivering consistent, trauma-informed care and contributing to a therapeutic community approach within the home in Chippenham

Safeguarding children at all times and working in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and relevant legislation

Building positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals, and acting as a role model within the staff team

Supporting day-to-day routines including cooking, cleaning, and activities, while meeting physical, emotional, behavioural, and cultural needs

Completing accurate, reflective documentation that evidences progress and engaging in reflective practice and supervision

Following health & safety procedures (including medication, fire safety, vehicles, and premises) and supporting compliant record-keeping
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Senior Residential Support Worker - Residential Children's Home, you will need:

NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)

Experience in residential children’s social care (advantageous) and willingness to learn trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches (e.g., PACE, therapeutic placements)

Enhanced DBS (clear) and positive references covering work with children/vulnerable adults

Full UK Driving Licence

Confidence to manage challenging situations with nurturing boundaries and a non-consequential approach

Must be 21 or over (registration requirement)
