    Your Role as a Senior Support Worker:
    In this pivotal role, you will lead, inspire, and support your team while providing exceptional care to young people. You will be instrumental in creating a safe, nurturing space, promoting therapeutic growth and stability. Your daily tasks will include:

    • Assisting management in running the home smoothly and developing therapeutic services.
    • Ensuring safeguarding and safety of children and staff at all times.
    • Building strong, empathetic relationships with young people, their families, and professionals.
    • Acting as a positive role model and leader within the team.
    • Supporting team development and addressing vicarious trauma.
    • Engaging in fun, community-based activities to promote social inclusion.
    • Assisting with practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
    • Maintaining detailed, reflective records evidencing progress and safeguarding.
    • Complying with all health and safety standards, policies, and legislation.
    • Upholding attachment-based and trauma-informed care approaches consistently.

    Skills and Qualifications Needed:

    • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in Children’s Residential Social Care or similar environment.
    • Strong understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and therapeutic approaches.
    • Effective leadership, communication, and nurturing skills.
    • Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or willingness to attain.
    • Valid UK Driving Licence.
    • Knowledge of Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and relevant legislation.
    • Clear DBS check and positive references.
    • Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and appropriate boundaries.
