Job Description
We are recruiting a Senior Shift Leader to join a supportive children’s residential setting in Deal, Kent. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on creating safety, consistency, and therapeutic care for children and young people, while guiding staff practice across each shift.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Shift Leader based in Deal, your daily duties will include:
- Leading a shift team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care and ensuring a safe, structured environment at all times
- Supporting accurate recording and reporting (daily logs, reports, and documentation), including contributing to risk assessments and care plan implementation
- Stepping up with operational responsibility when senior leaders are not on site, helping to maintain appropriate staffing levels and smooth running of the home
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Senior Shift Leader, you will need:
- A relevant Children’s Residential qualification (or willingness to work towards one) (e.g., Level 3 Diploma)
- Proven experience in a children’s residential care setting, with the confidence to guide others on shift
- Mandatory compliance including Enhanced DBS Check and Full UK Driving Licence (or ability to meet the role’s transport requirements)
