Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Assistant House Manager to join a leading specialist provider in children's residential care based in Ribbleton. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people, offering a rewarding career in children’s services. As an Assistant House Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the care team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality support in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and care for children and young people in a residential setting
- Assist in managing and supervising a small staff team
- Oversee the implementation of care and independence programmes
- Manage shift patterns and rota schedules effectively
- Build positive relationships with young people, staff, and external agencies
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety policies
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Level 5 qualification in Children and Young People (or willingness to study towards the Level 5 Diploma)
- Experience working with children or in residential care is desirable
- Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Naturally caring and compassionate attitude
- Attentiveness to individual needs of young people
