Salary: £14.50 - £15.50 per hour

Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a dedicated team at a reputable children’s residential care home in Clacton-on-Sea. This role is ideal for experienced professionals passionate about transforming the lives of children and young people with complex needs, trauma histories, and SEMH/EBD challenges. The Senior Residential Support Worker will play a vital leadership role, ensuring high standards of child-centred care within a nurturing and structured environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Senior on Shift, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
  • Lead and support Residential Support Workers, including mentoring and guidance
  • Implement and review care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and audits
  • Liaise with external professionals, families, and management
  • Promote a nurturing, structured, and trauma-informed environment
  • Safeguard children in line with policies, procedures, and legislation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential care setting
  • Proven experience supporting children with complex needs and challenging behaviour
  • Experience acting as a shift lead or senior on duty
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and care planning
  • Confident working within Ofsted regulations and quality standards
