Salary: £29,200–£30,400 per year + additional £3,250–£9,750 for sleep-ins
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Stevenage. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. As a Senior Support Worker in our children’s residential care home in Stevenage, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care, fostering a nurturing environment, and supporting young people's development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping children thrive and possess the skills to lead and mentor support staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate, high-quality daily support to children and young people in the Stevenage residential home
- Act as a mentor to support staff, leading by example and promoting best practices
- Foster a positive, nurturing environment that encourages recovery and growth
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and colleagues to ensure a safe and supportive setting
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 months’ experience in Children’s Residential Level 3 in Children and Young People
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Passion for supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs
- Ability to lead and motivate support staff in the Stevenage residential care environment
