Job Description:
Are you an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in a Children’s Residential EBD home in Stevenage? This Senior Residential Support Worker position offers the opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or challenging behaviours—helping them build recovery, stability, and lasting change. Key Responsibilities:
- Senior Residential Support Worker team leadership alongside other professionals, delivering therapeutic care tailored to each child
- Support the Service Manager with day-to-day service management to maintain high standards
- Act as a positive role model, mentoring colleagues and building trusting relationships with children
- Provide therapeutic care in a safe environment to facilitate recovery and positive change
- Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports, event observations, and individualised care plans
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 months experience in a children’s residential setting, with knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence (required)
- Excellent communication skills, naturally caring approach, and the flexibility and resilience needed for challenging shifts
- Ability to work flexible hours, including long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins
