Job Description
Senior Support Worker (Children’s Residential) opportunities are available in Bicester, Oxfordshire within a residential children’s home supporting young people who need a safe, predictable, and nurturing environment. Working with a supportive leadership team, you’ll help deliver consistent care, positive outcomes, and strong safeguarding practice.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Support Worker (Children’s Residential) based in Bicester, your daily duties will include:
- Leading shifts to ensure routines run smoothly and young people are supported with education, health, and leisure.
- Mentoring and guiding staff, including coaching Residential Support Workers and overseeing effective shift handovers.
- Managing task delegation and shift plans, escalating safety or operational concerns appropriately.
- Supporting care planning, including risk assessments and positive behaviour strategies.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, recording and reporting concerns and incidents promptly.
- Completing accurate documentation using digital care systems, including daily logs, incident reports, and medication records.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Senior Support Worker (Children’s Residential), you will need:
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent in the Children and Young People’s Workforce).
- Proven experience in a children’s residential setting.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, positive behaviour support, and relevant care standards.
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
