Job Title: Senior Children's Support Worker
Location: Bristol, BS1, United Kingdom
Salary: Up to £35,000 (sleep allowance included)
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated individual to join a residential service in Bristol as a Senior Children's Support Worker. This role involves supporting young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). If you are resilient, motivated, and eager to make a positive impact on young people's lives, this could be the perfect role for you. Working in a fast-paced environment, no two days are the same, offering both challenges and rewards in equal measure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and support the management team during shifts
- Mentor and support newer staff members
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting
- Manage challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Support young people in developing independence and well-being
- Ensure a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans and communication methods
- Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is essential
- Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is essential
- Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People is essential
- Full UK driver’s licence is mandatory due to the nature of the role
