Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of children’s residential care, is seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join their expanding team in Burton-on-Trent. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities within a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker based in Burton-on-Trent, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence
- Assisting with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding
- Leading and supervising team members, conducting supervisions, and supporting team development
- Supporting the daily running of the home and contributing to senior management decisions
- Engaging in activities such as play, cooking, and community involvement
- Creating, updating, and adhering to individual care and risk assessments
- Working in partnership with other agencies and attending reviews as required
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or NVQ Level 3/4 in Children, Young People & Family Practitioner (essential)
- Experience working in a children’s home setting, particularly with learning disabilities (essential)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Passion for nurturing young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes
- Ability to work shift patterns, including sleep-ins
