Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Support Worker to join a new residential care home for children and young people. This is a full-time, 39-hour-per-week position with an hourly rate of £15.40 - £16.00. You'll also earn an additional £62.64 per sleep-in shift, which can add an extra £3,000 - £6,000 per year to your salary.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team establishing a brand-new home. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work closely with the team to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for the young people.

  • Ensure the daily management of the home is handled professionally and competently.

  • Lead by example and provide mentorship to junior staff.

  • Help create and maintain a positive, therapeutic environment that encourages growth and well-being.

  • Record events and observations, and contribute to care plans.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in a children's residential setting or with child-centred, therapeutic models.

  • A Level 3 qualification in Caring for Children and Young People.

  • A full UK driving licence is required for this role.

  • You must be flexible and able to work long day shifts, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.

  • Great communication skills, with a naturally caring and resilient nature.
