Job Title: Registered Manager – Autism Support Services
Location: Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales
Salary: £36,000 - £37,000 per annum
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to lead a dedicated team within a well-established charity in Carmarthen. This role involves managing a 3-bed service supporting young people aged 16-25 with autism and complex needs in a unique, sustainable setting. The Registered Manager will oversee the delivery of high-quality care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a nurturing environment that promotes growth and development for young people. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the provision of high-quality care, support, and accommodation for young people with autism and complex needs.
- Monitor and evaluate service performance, developing action plans for continuous improvement.
- Complete and submit six-monthly quality of care reports to senior management.
- Conduct audits of care documentation and staff files to ensure compliance with CIW and local authority standards.
- Support and mentor staff, providing supervision, appraisals, and ongoing training.
- Participate in CIW inspections, ensuring the service remains compliant with all relevant legislation.
- Oversee HR processes, including managing staff-related issues and supporting team development.
- Maintain and update company policies and procedures, ensuring staff adherence through audits and observations.
- Collaborate with the Head of Residential and Responsible Individual to uphold service quality during inspections.
Requirements:
- Significant operational experience in a care environment, with a focus on young people or adults with complex needs.
- Proven ability to manage multiple small care homes effectively.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience supervising and developing staff teams.
- High resilience and emotional intelligence to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent, to gain approval as a registered manager with CIW and Social Care Wales.
- Experience as a Home Manager, Service Manager, or Responsible Individual in residential services.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior management and external regulators.
