Salary: £19,372.50 – £23,322.60 per annum (22.5 hours/week, term-time only)

Job Description
Speech and Language Therapist opportunity based in North Petherton, Somerset. You’ll support pupils with learning disabilities and/or autism, helping them build communication skills, confidence, and independence within a specialist school setting. You’ll join a collaborative team focused on delivering consistent, trauma-informed support.
Key Responsibilities
As a Speech and Language Therapist based in North Petherton, your daily duties will include:
- Delivering 1:1 therapy, small-group interventions, and in-class support to embed communication strategies across the school day in North Petherton.
- Working closely with a multidisciplinary team (including teachers, teaching assistants and onsite therapists) and contributing to regular team meetings.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and completing required administration, with flexibility to complete admin tasks during school holidays (including home working where appropriate).
- Supporting service development by contributing to resources and guidance for colleagues, and helping to mentor less experienced therapists and students on placement.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Speech and Language Therapist, you will need:
- A recognised Degree in Speech and Language Therapy plus HCPC registration and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists membership.
- Experience supporting children/young people in a similar setting (e.g., SEND, SEMH, learning disabilities, autism).
- A full UK driving licence.
- Ability to pass enhanced DBS and other safer recruitment checks (including references and online checks).
- Confident IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
