Job Description:
Are you a passionate and experienced social worker seeking a rewarding role in fostering and child welfare? Join a leading specialist provider dedicated to child-focused support and professional growth. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will be the vital link between our client’s agency and foster carers, ensuring high-quality care and positive outcomes for children across South West England.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carer Support & Supervision: Conduct regular visits to foster carers in South Somerset, Dorset, and Wiltshire, providing expert supervision and guidance.
- Assessments & Evaluations: Undertake Form F assessments to expand and enhance our foster carer community.
- Carer Recruitment & Community Engagement: Represent the agency at community events, attracting and engaging prospective foster carers aligned with the agency’s values.
- Training & Development: Identify the training needs of foster families and deliver TSD Standard training sessions.
- Child Matching & Placement Planning: Prepare detailed, analytical expressions of interest to ensure optimal matches for children in placement, promoting positive outcomes.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records to demonstrate statutory and Ofsted compliance, supporting continuous quality improvement.
- Out of Hours Support: Participate in a flexible OOH support rota (approximately 1 week in 6), providing pivotal telephone support to carers outside of working hours.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Social Work (Undergraduate or Postgraduate).
- Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Extensive knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Fostering Regulations 2011, and safeguarding best practices.
- Proven experience with Form F assessments and fostering processes.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel up to 90 minutes to visit foster carers in rural areas.
- Resilient, empathetic, and committed to child-centered practice.
- Flexible and adaptable to participate in Out of Hours support.
