Salary: £40,000 per year (DOE, 3+ years post-qualified) + PRP after probation
Job Description:
An established specialist provider is seeking a dedicated Supervising Social Worker (SSW) to join their South Central team in Hampshire. This Supervising Social Worker role offers a rewarding opportunity to work within a child-focused organization committed to delivering exceptional foster care services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about safeguarding children, supporting foster carers, and ensuring positive outcomes for young people. The Supervising Social Worker in this role will enjoy a flexible, hybrid working environment, combining home-based work with regular attendance at regional offices and community events in Hampshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a child-centred approach, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of potential foster carers, including Form F assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support and develop foster carers through training, supervision, and ongoing support to ensure they meet Ofsted standards.
- Attend recruitment and community events to promote fostering and attract suitable candidates.
- Work in partnership with children, families, and external agencies to facilitate positive placements.
- Keep accurate, high-quality records and prepare reports for agency panels.
- Support foster carers in meeting statutory KPIs and maintaining compliance.
- Participate in out-of-hours support and emergency response as part of a flexible working rota.
- Promote a supportive, family-like environment aligned with the organization’s core values of care, listening, collaboration, and inclusion.
Requirements:
- A social work degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) with SWE registration.
- Extensive knowledge of current legislation, including The Children Act 1989, Fostering Regulations 2011, and related standards.
- Proven experience in fostering or child social work, with a focus on safeguarding.
- Ability to work flexibly outside of standard hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
- Strong assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
- Commitment to maintaining family and community connections where appropriate.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with high standards of practice.
