About the Role
As a Supervising Social Worker (SSW), you'll play a crucial role in supporting, developing, and empowering our foster parents. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional guidance, supervision, and management to ensure foster parents are equipped to offer the best possible care. This includes:

Supervising and supporting a caseload of foster carers, ensuring they meet the needs of the children and young people in their care.

Recruiting and retaining new foster parents, expanding our capacity to support more children.

Developing and delivering training and development opportunities for foster parents.

Working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong commitment to child welfare. To be successful in this role, you'll need:

Social Work England registration (required).

A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent.

A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in a childcare work team, specifically within Family Support, Child Protection, Looked After Children, or Fostering and Adoption.

A full UK Driving Licence (required) and access to a vehicle.

Proven supervisory experience within a social work context.

Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and procedures, with the ability to apply them effectively.

Strong understanding and application of social work methodologies.

Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and convincingly.

A strong ability to reflect on and evaluate your own practice, contributing to ongoing professional development.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships with colleagues, foster carers, and external organisations.

Effective organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and set clear objectives.

Proficiency in IT systems and applications relevant to childcare teamwork.

Experience working with a diverse service user group.

Evidence of ongoing post-qualifying training.
