Supervising Social Worker - Devon Region

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Supervising Social Worker who is based in the Devon region.

You'll inherit a manageable caseload of up to 10 households/14 children, with  carers located across Devon. We're looking for someone based in or around Exeter to best serve this area.
This  team's strength is its ability to build strong, lasting relationships with foster carers, and their reputation for providing exceptional service is a source of pride. This agency is on a journey to become an outstanding service, driven by  core values: We care, We Listen, We Collaborate, We Invest. If you share these values, you'll fit right in with our supportive and kind culture, focused on solutions and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with our carers to ensure they are "Ofsted-ready" and gather evidence of the positive outcomes for children.

  • Maintain a manageable caseload of no more than 10 households. We believe this focus on quality is key to providing the best service to our carers and children.

  • You may be required to undertake Form F assessments and help grow your cohort of carers. Previous assessment experience is important due to our healthy recruitment pipeline.

  • Travel within Devon is expected, with drives of up to 90 minutes per carer, depending on your location.

  • Attend recruitment events, carer events, and social activities, which may occasionally be on weekends. We offer a flexible working approach to ensure your contractual hours are met.

The Details

  • Salary: £40,000 plus a Performance-Related Payment (PRP) after probation.

  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (9 am - 5 pm).

  • Location: Home-based with an expectation of attending the Exeter regional office 1-2 days per week for supervisions, training, and meetings.

  • On-Call: A rota for out-of-hours on-call work (1:6 weeks), paid at £150 per week.

  • Leave: 28 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing to 32 days with length of service, plus your birthday off!

  • Benefits:

  • £0.45 per mile mileage allowance.

  • Comprehensive training programme.

  • Discretionary sick pay.

  • Annual pay increase.

  • Employee Assistance Programme for free professional advice and counselling.

  • Cycle and Electric Car salary sacrifice schemes.

  • Star Awards Scheme.

If you're a Supervising Social Worker with a commitment to quality and a passion for supporting foster carers, we'd love to hear from you.

Laura was very straight and not promising the world.

She was helpful and responsive and actually found me some work. I have met many others recently and been totally uninspired by them. I have already recommended Vetro to another friend.

Laura went over and beyond and actively worked hard to make sure we found someone who would be suited...

I could see that the applicants sent over, a lot of thought went into it from Laura.

It wasn’t any first candidate or someone who has been sitting on your books for ages being pushed onto us.
