Salary: £31,556 – £33,261 (inclusive of sleep-ins)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 per week + sleeps
Shift Pattern: 2 on / 4 off
Location: Bala, Gwynedd

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people?
We’re hiring a Children’s Residential Support Worker for a stunning rural children’s home just outside Bala. You’ll work with young people aged 8–18 with complex needs and challenging behaviours in a therapeutic, nurturing environment where compassion and consistency truly matter.

This role suits experienced children’s residential support workers, or those from adult mental health, learning disabilities, or challenging behaviour settings looking to develop their career in children’s residential care.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting and mentoring young people to build independence and confidence
     

  • Creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment
     

  • Promoting emotional, social, and behavioural development
     

  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours calmly and professionally
     

  • Building positive relationships with families, colleagues, and professionals
     

  • Helping maintain a warm, homely residential environment
     

 


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in children’s residential care or adult mental health / challenging behaviour support (essential/desirable mix)
     

  • Full UK driving licence – ESSENTIAL
     

  • 21+ years old – ESSENTIAL (CIW requirement)
     

  • Passion, resilience, and a genuine desire to change young lives
