Job Title: Supported Living / Housing Support Worker
Location:Aberdare
Salary: £14.24 per hour (including holidays)

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Supported Living / Housing Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider. In this role, you will offer practical, emotional, and developmental support to young people aged 16–25 living in supported or transitional accommodation. Your focus will be on fostering independence, building life skills, and helping young people maintain safe, stable housing while working towards their personal, educational, and employment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young people to maintain safe, clean, and stable accommodation
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and grocery shopping
  • Support tenancy responsibilities, including rent, property care, and neighbour relations
  • Help young people develop independent living skills
  • Build positive, trusting relationships using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
  • Support emotional well-being and social connection
  • Encourage participation in education, training, employment, and community activities
  • Support young people in setting and working towards personal goals
  • Work alongside case workers, youth workers, and external services
  • Support young people to attend appointments (health, education, housing, legal)
  • Contribute to support plans, progress notes, and incident reports
  • Identify risks and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours or crises
  • Maintain a safe environment and respond to incidents in line with policies
  • Promote young people’s rights, choice, and self-determination
  • Follow safeguarding, child protection, and organisational procedures
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Strong value base with an empathetic approach to supported housing environments
  • Ideally, some experience within a similar social care setting
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively with young people
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting young people's rights
