Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for dedicated residential support workers to join a leading specialist provider supporting care leavers aged 16 to 25 in Flint. This full-time residential support worker role offers a rewarding environment where you can make a real difference in young people's lives. As a residential support worker, you will help young people develop independence, learn new skills, and create a safe, caring, and supportive home. Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives according to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people in promoting their independence and overall well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication preferences.
- Support young people in managing challenging behaviours and promote positive development.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a support worker with children or young adults in a similar setting is desirable.
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Adult Social Care or equivalent.
- Experience working within learning disability or mental health settings, especially with individuals demonstrating complex behaviours.
- Must be a driver, as travel between sites may be required during shifts.
- Over 18 years of age.
- Passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment for young people to develop.
