Job Title: Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care
Location: Liverpool, Merseyside, UK
Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum, plus sleep-in allowances of £60 per sleep-in

Job Description:

A leading specialist provider is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join their children’s residential care team in Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to build a meaningful career within a dynamic and supportive environment, helping children and young people develop essential life skills and emotional resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours
  • Provide OFSTED-standard support within a residential care setting
  • Build trusting, positive relationships with young people
  • Support independence skills such as cooking, budgeting, and personal care
  • Promote well-being and emotional resilience through daily routines and structured activities
  • Safeguard young people in line with OFSTED guidelines
  • Encourage community involvement and personal development
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to ensure consistency and stability
  • Complete recordings, logs, and contribute to support plans

Requirements:

  • Passion for supporting children and young people
  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a care setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, resilience, and adaptability
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive (desirable)

Shift Pattern:

  • 3-week rotating schedule:
    • Week 1: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday
    • Week 2: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday
    • Week 3: Thursday
  • 24-hour shifts including evenings, nights, and handovers
