Job Title: Support Worker
Location: PR3, Preston
Salary: £13.50- £14.70 per hour (DOE)
Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people? A leading specialist provider is expanding its team and opening a new residential home, offering a unique opportunity for dedicated support workers in the Preston area.
As a support worker in this role, you will play a vital part in creating a nurturing environment where children and young people can thrive, learn, and develop essential life skills. This is an exciting chance to be involved in setting up a new home, establishing its ethos and culture under new leadership, and making a real difference from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people aged 8 to 18 with complex needs, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
- Assist in creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment.
- Help develop individual care plans and promote positive behaviour.
- Participate in daily activities, including educational, recreational, and therapeutic sessions.
- Support with personal care and daily living tasks as required.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the home's ethos and culture.
- Work on a rota basis, covering early and late shifts, including sleep-ins.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with team members and external professionals.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- No formal qualifications are required, but a passion for helping children and young people is vital.
- Ability to work flexibly on a rota basis, including sleep-ins.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Willingness to undertake DBS and reference checks in line with government regulations.
