Job Title: Supported Housing Support Worker
Location: Cardiff, Wales, UK
Salary: £14.24 per hour (including holiday pay)

Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking caring, resilient, and motivated Supported Housing Support Workers to join a supported accommodation service in Cardiff. This role offers an opportunity to empower young individuals aged 16–25 to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to live independently. Working within a dedicated team, you will help create a safe, supportive environment where young people can thrive and progress towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting young people to manage and maintain their accommodation
• Helping develop essential life skills, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, laundry, and shopping
• Assisting with tenancy responsibilities, such as paying rent and understanding tenancy agreements
• Encouraging independence while promoting confidence and resilience
• Building positive, trusting relationships using a trauma-informed, person-centred approach
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and helping young people build healthy support networks
• Encouraging engagement with education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities
• Supporting attendance at appointments with healthcare professionals, housing services, and other agencies
• Working alongside internal teams and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each young person
• Maintaining accurate records, support plans, and daily reports
• Managing risk effectively and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns or challenging situations
• Promoting equality, inclusion, independence, and young people's rights at all times

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
• A compassionate, patient, and non-judgemental approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build professional relationships and motivate others
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team
• Experience within supported housing, homelessness services, youth work, residential care, or social care is desirable but not essential
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for young people
• A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
