Job Description:
We are recruiting a Support Worker (Care) to join a residential service in Llandovery. This role supports young adults with learning difficulties, disabilities and, where relevant, autism, within a structured 24-hour curriculum and total communication environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker (Care) based in Llandovery, your daily duties will include:

  • Supporting person-centred planning to help individuals progress, build independence and enhance life chances.
  • Delivering respectful personal care in line with support plans, promoting privacy, dignity and choice.
  • Updating and maintaining accurate care documentation (e.g., Care PlansRisk AssessmentsBehaviour Support Plans) in line with internal policies and relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Administering medication safely in accordance with organisational procedures and required standards.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, attending team and service user meetings, and actioning agreed outcomes.
  • Liaising with families, external agencies and stakeholders to support integrated care and positive outcomes.
  • Supporting safeguarding practice, escalating any concerns promptly in line with policy.
  • Completing domestic tasks within the residential setting and recording service user expenditure as required.
  • Undertaking sleep-ins/wakeful nights (typically one per week) and supporting individuals who may display challenging behaviour.
  • Participating in training and CPD to maintain high-quality, consistent support.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Support Worker (Care), you will need:

  • Experience supporting individuals in a careresidential, or supported living setting (or transferable experience with a strong commitment to care).
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and person-centred practice.
  • Willingness to work sleep-ins/waking nights and support individuals with challenging behaviour.
  • QCF Level 3 (or equivalent) is desirable; if qualified, you may support shift-leading duties when required.
