Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker for Learning Disabilities based in Carmarthenshire, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting residents in their daily lives, promoting independence and resilience.
- Engaging residents in farm and outdoor activities, including animal care and community outings.
- Assisting with social, recreational, and skill-building programmes tailored to individual interests.
- Working collaboratively with team members to create a safe, enriching environment.
- Supporting residents with mobility and personal care tasks as required.
- Taking individuals to their chosen places of worship and outings in the community.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Support Worker for Learning Disabilities, you will need:
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
- Level 2 medication training and experience supporting individuals with Down syndrome and cerebral palsy.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to drive service vehicles.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including outdoor activities and farm-related tasks.
- Previous experience in care or support work is advantageous but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
