Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join the team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to residents within a caring and supportive environment, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker based in Carmarthenshire your daily duties will include:
- Assisting residents in creating a comfortable, clean, and supportive living environment in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
- Supporting residents with personal hygiene, self-help skills, and medication administration after appropriate training.
- Encouraging residents to participate in stimulating activities both within the home and the local community.
- Supporting residents with their care plans, risk assessments, and behavioural guidelines to promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Monitoring and supporting residents with their diet, including meal preparation and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in communal and personal areas.
- Acting as a key worker for designated residents, fostering warm, developmental, and respectful relationships.
- Participating in shift handovers, meetings, and providing written and verbal reports on residents’ progress and well-being.
- Ensuring residents’ rights and dignity are upheld at all times, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Supporting residents with basic finance skills and encouraging independence.
- Participating in duty rotas, including ‘sleeping in’ or ‘awake night’ duties, and undertaking driving duties if licensed and required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Support Worker, you will need:
- A caring attitude, good verbal communication skills, enthusiasm, motivation, and flexibility.
- Experience in a similar care setting is desirable.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS check and relevant health and safety training.
