Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in the children’s care sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children by providing personalised support within a nurturing environment. The Residential Support Worker will work closely with children, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being are prioritised at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children’s weekly activities, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
- Follow individual Placement Plans and promote educational attendance and engagement.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in line with policies and procedures.
- Communicate positively with children, encouraging their development and independence.
- Support children in developing life skills, including personal hygiene and household responsibilities.
- Accompany children on outdoor activities and outings, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Respond appropriately to behavioural challenges, following positive behaviour support plans.
- Record incidents, accidents, and other relevant information accurately and promptly.
- Raise concerns or issues with senior management and participate in team meetings and training.
- Support with transport and sleep-in duties as required, maintaining flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in a residential or care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including sleep-in duties and lone working.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications or training in children’s care (desirable).
