Supported Living Worker – Night Waking Shifts (Adults with Additional Needs)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a caring, empathetic, and resilient Supported Living Worker to join the dedicated night team at a supported living house for adults with complex needs. This is a permanent role focused on providing essential overnight support to adults with autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, and communication needs.

No prior experience is necessary - you will receive excellent training, a full induction, and ongoing mentoring to help you succeed.

  • Salary: £26,951 - £27,976 per year

  • Night Waking Allowance: £650 per year

  • Retention Bonus: A £1,000 Retention Bonus is offered (paid in instalments over 18 months).

  • Hours: 37 hours per week, working permanent night waking shifts on a rota basis, year-round.


 

The Role and Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility is to ensure tenants feel safe, supported, and at home during the night.

  • Work night waking shifts on a rota basis.

  • Supporting tenants if they wake during the night, ensuring they feel safe and at home.

  • Providing reassurance and guidance when tenants feel anxious or frustrated.

  • Using positive behaviour support techniques (full training provided).

  • Building trusting relationships that help tenants live fulfilled and independent lives.


 

Required Qualities and Experience

  • Qualities: Compassion, patience, and a ‘can do’ attitude are essential.

  • Resilience: A sufficient level of mental, physical, and emotional resilience to meet the demands of the role.

  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

  • Transport: Own transport is desirable due to the semi-rural location.
