Job Overview

We are recruiting a caring, empathetic, and resilient Supported Living Worker to join the dedicated night team at The Lodge, a supported living house for adults with complex needs. This is a permanent role offering the chance to provide essential overnight support and make a difference every night.

The tenants include adults with autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, and communication needs. No prior experience is necessary--we provide excellent training and support for you to succeed.

  • Night Waking Allowance: £650 per year

  • Retention Bonus: A £1,000 Retention Bonus is offered (paid in instalments over 18 months).

  • Hours: 37 hours per week working permanent night waking shifts on a rota basis.

The Role and Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility is to ensure tenants feel safe, supported, and at home during the night.

  • Support tenants if they wake, providing immediate reassurance and guidance when they feel anxious or frustrated.

  • Use positive behaviour support techniques to maintain a calm and safe environment (full training provided).

  • Build trusting relationships that help tenants live fulfilled and independent lives.

  • Work collaboratively as part of the night team.

What We Offer

We invest in your career growth and well-being:

  • Financial Bonus: £1,000 Retention Bonus (paid at 1 month, 1 year, and 18 months).

  • Paid Time Off: 25 days annual leave plus public holidays.

  • Fully Funded Qualification: QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care funded by the Trust.

  • Comprehensive Training: Full induction, ongoing mentoring, and Team Teach positive behaviour support training (refreshed annually).

  • Health Benefits: Life insurance and medical cash plan (commencing after 1 month).

  • Wellbeing Support: Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 confidential support).

  • Career Progression: Opportunity to move into a Senior Support Worker role after achieving the diploma and 2 years' service.

  • Transport: Ample free parking on-site (own transport desirable due to the semi-rural location).

Required Qualities

  • Compassion, patience, and a ‘can do’ attitude.

  • A sufficient level of mental, physical, and emotional resilience to meet the demands of night work.
