Supported Living Worker – Night Waking Shifts

Job Overview

We are seeking a caring, empathetic, and resilient Supported Living Worker to join a dedicated night team in Cranleigh. This role supports adults with autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, and communication needs, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and at home throughout the night.

No prior experience is necessary. We provide excellent training, a full induction, and ongoing mentoring to help you succeed in this rewarding permanent role.

  • Salary: £26,951 - £27,976 per annum

  • Allowance: £650 night waking allowance (per year)

  • Retention Bonus: £1,000 total bonus (£250 after 1 month, £250 after 1 year, and £500 after 18 months).

  • Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week, year-round).

  • Schedule: Night waking shifts on a rota basis.


Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Overnight Support: Supporting tenants if they wake during the night, ensuring they remain safe and feel secure in their home environment.

  • Emotional Support: Providing reassurance and guidance when tenants feel anxious, frustrated, or unsettled.

  • Behaviour Support: Using Positive Behaviour Support techniques to manage complex needs (full training provided).

  • Relationship Building: Developing trusting relationships that empower tenants to live fulfilled and independent lives.

  • Professional Care: Adhering to all safety and safeguarding guidelines to promote the welfare of vulnerable adults.


What We Are Looking For

  • Qualities: Compassion, patience, and a "can-do" attitude.

  • Resilience: A sufficient level of mental, physical, and emotional resilience to meet the demands of a night-based care role.

  • Transport: Own transport is desirable due to the semi-rural location of the home.
