Vetro Education is working in partnership with a Special School in Caerphilly and have been tasked with finding a Teacher who specialises in teaching to learners with Additional Learning Needs and would be looking for 2-4 days a week working across the school, covering a variety of subjects and activities. 

The school supports learners with a variety of Additional Learning Needs and Teachers with experience of supporting learners with ASD, Global Delay Disorder and learners with Profound and multiple learning difficulties would be of real interest for this role. Previous candidates who have worked at the school are always full of praise for the support and welcome they receive from the staff and are always keen to return.

  • Pay: £173.00 per day minimum
  • Location: Caerphilly
  • Hours: Full time or part time - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Teacher - ALN specialist

  • Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, Global delay disorder or Profound multiple learning difficulties
  • Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
  • Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Delivery of a variety of subjects at both primary and secondary level
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies


The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Teacher - ALN specialist

  • At least 1 year teaching experience within a Special School
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
