Job Description:

Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? We are seeking a dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a reputable school in Crosskeys, Newport. This full-time, long-term position offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in young learners' lives within the foundation phase.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to a pupil with challenging behaviour, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the foundation phase
• Promote social, emotional, and academic development through tailored support
• Help create a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and confidence
• Support the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour management strategies
• Collaborate closely with staff to ensure the pupils' needs are met and progress is tracked

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working with children, especially supporting pupils with behavioural needs
• Strong understanding of the primary education curriculum, particularly in the foundation phase
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, adaptable, and committed to fostering an inclusive environment
• Relevant qualifications in childcare, education support, or equivalent are desirable
