Salary: £90.00+ per day / DOE

As a Teaching Assistant in Merthyr Tydfil, you will work across primary, secondary, and SEN schools, providing vital support to learners with diverse needs. Whether you're seeking full-time or part-time work, this position offers flexible hours from Monday to Friday, with the potential for long-term placements for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and supervise classroom activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment
• Assist learners in understanding lessons and staying on task
• Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support to pupils with SEN, including Autism and other additional needs
• Support learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
• Help with lunch and break-time supervision as needed
• Engage learners in both classroom and extracurricular activities
• Follow school behaviour management policies to promote positive behaviour

Requirements:

• Experience working or volunteering with children with SEN is preferred but not essential
• Proactive work ethic and a patient, understanding attitude
• Good understanding of special educational needs and how to support them
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexibility to work between Monday and Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, including a 30-minute lunch break
