Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise classroom activities for pupils with SEN
  • Assist learners in staying on task and understanding lessons
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver tailored support
  • Provide 1:1 or small group assistance to learners with additional needs
  • Support pupils during break times and lunch periods
  • Engage learners in both classroom and extracurricular activities
  • Follow school behaviour management policies to maintain a positive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working or volunteering with children with SEN is preferred
  • Proactive work ethic and a patient, understanding attitude
  • Good understanding of special educational needs, including Autism
  • Ability to provide flexible support to meet individual pupil needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to supporting inclusive education

This Teaching Assistant role in Pontypridd offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting children with SEN. The working hours are from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. The position may be long-term for the right candidate, providing stability and ongoing professional development.
