Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support in Pontypridd

Job Description:

A leading specialist provider is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEN in schools across Pontypridd. The role offers flexible full-time and part-time hours, working Monday to Friday, with the potential for long-term placements for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise classroom activities for pupils with SEN
- Assist learners in understanding lessons and staying on task
- Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support
- Support learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, particularly those with additional needs
- Help with lunch and break-time routines as needed
- Engage pupils in classroom and extracurricular activities
- Follow school behaviour management policies to maintain a positive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience or volunteering with children with SEN is preferred
- Proactive work ethic and a patient, understanding attitude
- Good understanding of special educational needs and inclusive practices
- Ability to provide tailored support to pupils with diverse needs
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work between Monday and Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, including a 30-minute lunch break
