Job Title: PRU Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support)
Location: Merthyr Tydfil, Wales
Salary: £90.00 - £100.00 per day (DOE)

Job Description:
We are seeking a resilient and empathetic PRU Teaching Assistant to join a leading specialist provider in Merthyr Tydfil. The successful candidate will work closely with the Class Teacher to provide tailored behavioural support within a safe and structured learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with SEMH needs to re-engage with learning and develop social skills
• Assist the Class Teacher in delivering personalised learning plans
• Manage behavioural challenges with patience and empathy
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all pupils
• Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
• Promote positive behaviour strategies and social development

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable
• Resilient, empathetic, and able to handle challenging situations calmly
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting pupils’ needs
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support are advantageous
