Job Description:

A leading specialist provider is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their education team in a specialist school and college in Cranleigh, Surrey. As a Teaching Assistant in this role, you will support students aged 5-19 with severe social communication difficulties, learning disabilities, and challenging behaviors. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with diverse needs, including communication challenges and behavioral difficulties
- Assist in delivering tailored lessons in core subjects such as literacy, numeracy, and science, as well as life skills like cookery and gardening
- Help students access therapy-based education and manage their emotions and behaviors
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all students
- Support students with personal care needs, following training and safeguarding protocols
- Collaborate with a dedicated team to implement individualized learning plans
- Participate in ongoing training, including Team Teach positive behavior support and safeguarding
Requirements:
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to support children with special educational needs
- Good literacy and numeracy skills for supporting student learning and completing documentation
- Effective communication skills with children, families, and professionals
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to individual student needs
- Physical and mental resilience to handle challenging situations
- No prior experience necessary; full training provided
