Job Title: Supply Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Job Description:

A leading specialist provider is offering an exciting opportunity for a Supply Teaching Assistant in schools across Pontypridd. This role is ideal for individuals eager to support learners with SEN, including those with Autism, in a dynamic educational environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise classroom activities for pupils with SEN
- Assist learners in staying on task and understanding lessons
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver tailored support
- Support learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis with additional needs
- Help with lunch and break-time routines as needed
- Engage learners in classroom and out-of-class activities
- Follow school behaviour management policies to maintain a positive environment
Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with children with SEN (preferred but not essential)
- Proactive work ethic and a positive attitude
- Good understanding of special educational needs and inclusive practices
- Ability to provide supportive assistance to pupils with diverse needs
- Patience, understanding, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
The role starts at 8:30 am and finishes at 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEN while gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment.
